Houston Area African Studies Group (HAASG)
HAASG is a long-standing collaborative among Texas Southern University, the University of Houston, Rice, and other institutions. It seeks to foster engagement with the African continent through lectures, workshops, and other events. Interested students and others should subscribe to the Houston Area African Studies Group listerv.
HAASG is a resource for Rice students interested in taking courses outside Rice or conducting research on topics or in regions that lie outside the specializations of the Rice faculty. In addition to the African Studies faculty at Rice, core members of the HAASG include:
